Volleyball Game Preview: Joliet West Tigers vs. Yorkville Foxes

Joliet West has won 15 straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Yorkville has won 15 straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Tigers will welcome the Foxes at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Saturday, Joliet West beat Loyola Academy 2-0.

Joliet West easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-21.

Joliet West's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Julia Adams, who had four digs and four aces. Another player making a difference was Eden Eyassu, who had eight digs and three aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Joliet West was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Meanwhile, Yorkville had just enough and edged out Romeoville 2-1 on Thursday.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Yorkville got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 34-36, 25-17.

Yorkville's win bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Joliet West, their victory bumped their record up to 24-3.

Joliet West was able to grind out a solid win over Yorkville in their previous meeting back in August, winning 2-0. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Foxes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
