Basketball Recap: Vicksburg Victorious

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Vicksburg ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Neshoba Central Rockets 63-60. For the Gators, this counts as revenge for the 76-37 win the Rockets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Neshoba Central's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Shastyn Lewis, who posted 15 points, and Iyley Denson, who earned 13 points. Another player making a difference was Jiar Henry, who put up seven points.

Vicksburg pushed their record up to 10-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for Neshoba Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-9.
