Basketball Game Preview: Harvard Cardinals vs. Wilcox-Hildreth Falcons

Harvard is 1-6 against Wilcox-Hildreth since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. Both will round out the year against one another at at 1:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Harvard is headed into Saturday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 26th straight game dating back to last season on Saturday. They took a blow against Heartland Lutheran, falling 55-25. That's two games in a row now that the Cardinals have lost by exactly 30 points.

Meanwhile, Wilcox-Hildreth didn't have quite enough to beat Pleasanton on Saturday and fell 35-33.

Harvard will need focus on slowing down Madison Bunger, one of several Wilcox-Hildreth players who made an impact when they last played. She posted six points in addition to 11 boards and three steals. Bunger is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down 11 or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Cara Bunger, who had eight points and four steals.

Wilcox-Hildreth's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Harvard, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Harvard was taken down by Wilcox-Hildreth 55-13 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Bunger, who dropped a triple-double on 24 points, ten rebounds, and ten steals. Now that Harvard knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
