Football Recap: Wadena-Deer Creek Comes Up Short

Wadena-Deer Creek was the 41-8 winner over Lake Park-Audubon when they last played one another back in October of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Wolverines were outmatched by the Raiders and fell 55-8. The Wolverines were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-0.

Lake Park-Audubon was led to victory by Luca Beske and Noah Abbott. Beske threw for 152 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes, while Abbott rushed for 71 yards and two scores. Abbott showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 69 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabe Harris, who gained 51 total yards and two touchdowns.

Wadena-Deer Creek's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Lake Park-Audubon, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

As for Lake Park-Audubon, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 27-14 victory against Menahga on the 12th.
