Basketball Recap: Westview Comes Up Short

Westview suffered their biggest defeat since November 9th on Thursday. They were beaten by the Fremont Eagles 66-37. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

When it comes to explaining why Westview lost, don't look at Bre Cory. Despite the final result, she posted ten points and three steals. Another player making a difference was JJ Whetstone, who earned ten points.

Westview's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Fremont, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Westview and Elkhart Christian Academy will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025. As for Fremont, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Fort Wayne Bishop Luers at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2025.
