Basketball Game Preview: Aiken Falcons vs. Turpin Spartans

The Aiken Falcons will head out to take on the Turpin Spartans at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Aiken will be strutting in after a win while Turpin will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Wednesday, Aiken took their match with ease, bagging a 52-13 victory over Taft. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 games by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Turpin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against Walnut Hills, falling 75-43. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 546th, while the Eagles are ranked 50th).

Aiken has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 33.1 points. As for Turpin, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-17.

Aiken was dealt a bruising 67-15 loss at the hands of Turpin in their previous matchup back in January of 2020. Can Aiken avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
