There's no place like home for West Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They breezed past the La Sierra Eagles to the tune of 49-6 on Thursday. With the Mustangs ahead 43-6 at the half, the game was all but over already.

West Valley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of James Resendez and Lima Amisone. Amisone got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

La Sierra lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Shawn Childs, who rushed for 90 yards, and also picked up 90 receiving yards. He showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 60 yards.

West Valley's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 7.5 points on average over those games. As for La Sierra, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

West Valley didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 49-14 defeat against Rancho Christian on the 5th. As for La Sierra, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 31-6 victory against Saddleback on the 5th.
