Basketball Game Preview: Crandall Pirates vs. Red Oak Hawks

Crandall is 0-4 against Red Oak since January of 2023 but things could change on Friday. The Crandall Pirates will welcome the Red Oak Hawks at 8:00 p.m.

Crandall is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest loss since November 8, 2024 on Tuesday. They were beaten by Midlothian 65-32. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 499th, while the Panthers are ranked 127th).

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Red Oak against Corsicana on Tuesday as the squad secured a 76-46 win. The Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season.

Red Oak's victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-8. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.2 points per game. As for Crandall, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-14.

Crandall came up short against Red Oak when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 58-53. Can Crandall avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
