 Sadly, Onalaska is still looking for their first win of the season after eight  matchups. They suffered a  rough 11-0 loss at the hands of the Kalama Chinooks  on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Onalaska of the  15-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in March of 2022.
 For Kalama's part,  Gavin McBride made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run and  only two  hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. McBride was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run and  stealing two bases while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances. He has been hot recently, having posted  at least one  stolen base the last three times he's  played.
 In other batting news,  Drew Schlangen was a standout: he scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 2-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as he's  now  stolen  at least one in the last three games he's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Jevan Lucente, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.
 Onalaska's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Kalama,  the  win  made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 6-3.
 The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: they beat Onalaska by a score of  13-0 later that day.
