Volleyball Recap: Badger Takes a Loss

Badger was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Amherst Falcons.

Meara Heiselmann paced Badger's offense, picking up nine kills. Heiselmann got some help from Laina Kirsch and her eight assists. Heiselmann was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Amherst found their leader in sophomore Tera Stormoen, who had ten digs and two aces. Stormoen also posted two assists, marking her first of the season.

Badger's loss dropped their record down to 16-15. As for Amherst, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season.

Badger has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Wisconsin Dells on the 11th. As for Amherst, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Madison Memorial on the 11th.
