Volleyball Recap: Tyler Knights vs. Greenbrier Christian Academy Gators
Tyler saw some tournament action on Saturday. They won by a set and slipped past the Greenbrier Christian Academy Gators 2-1.
Katie Grimm paced Tyler's offense, picking up 11 kills. Grimm got some help from Raylynn Heintzman and her 16 assists. Finally, Grimm was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high five blocks.
Despite the loss, Greenbrier Christian Academy had strong showings from Vivianne Tucker, who had 17 digs and one assist, and Hannah Hess, who had 19 assists and five digs. Another player making a difference was Katelyn Balka, who had eight kills and three digs.
Tyler's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Greenbrier Christian Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-6-1.
Looking ahead, Tyler will take on South Harrison at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hawks will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight. As for Greenbrier Christian Academy, they will face off against Portsmouth Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
