North is a perfect 4-0 against Wiseburn- Da Vinci since April of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The North Saxons will host the Wiseburn- Da Vinci Wolves at 3:30 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: North has struggled recently with four defeats in a row, while Wiseburn- Da Vinci will arrive with five straight wins.
North is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest loss since April 17, 2024 on Friday. They came up short against Crescenta Valley, falling 12-4.
Athena Singer and Brooklyn Gilardi did some serious damage despite the final result: Singer scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Gilardi went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
While Wiseburn- Da Vinci didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on Chadwick with a sharp 12-1 victory on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Wolves, who have now won four games by nine runs or more so far this season.
Addison Wilson made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one double. Those stolen bases marked the first that she snagged this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jasmine Veal, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Anali Jimenez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Wiseburn- Da Vinci's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-0. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for North, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.
Everything went North's way against Wiseburn- Da Vinci when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as North made off with a 9-0 victory. Does North have another victory up their sleeve, or will Wiseburn- Da Vinci turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
