Basketball Recap: Juan Castillo and Wyatt Killough Secure Win for Sonora

Sonora had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on the Iraan Braves with a sharp 70-46 victory on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Broncos: when they faced off against the Braves two weeks ago, they had to take a 70-58 defeat.

Leading Sonora to victory were Wyatt Killough and Juan Castillo. Killough went 7 for 17 on his way to 18 points and seven rebounds, while Castillo went 7 of 13 on his way to 14 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Castillo is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kameryn Aguero, who posted ten points and five rebounds.

Sonora smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in four consecutive games.

Sonora's win bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Iraan, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Sonora didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 51-18 victory against Bronte on the 28th. As for Iraan, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 55-45 loss against Grape Creek on the 28th.
