Softball Recap: Oceanside Has No Trouble Against Southwest EC

Oceanside lost to Southwest EC back in March of 2019, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. Oceanside walked away with a 7-4 victory over Southwest EC. The matchup marked the Pirates' most dominant win of the season so far.

Hannah Narcy was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Anaiah Filo, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Oceanside was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .480. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The victory made it two in a row for Oceanside and bumps their season record up to 3-6. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 12 hits in those games compared to only 3.71 in the others. As for Southwest EC, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oceanside will challenge Torrey Pines at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Southwest EC, they will square off against Mar Vista at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
