Basketball Recap: Gate City Falls to Dobyns-Bennett in First Game of Season

Gate City kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They were dealt a 92-49 defeat at the hands of the Dobyns-Bennett Indians. The Blue Devils haven't had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Dobyns-Bennett is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gate City will venture away from home to take on John Battle at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Dobyns-Bennett will take on Cherokee in a holiday battle at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
