Basketball Recap: Trinity Comes Up Short

Trinity dropped to 4-2 on Monday, ending the team's seven-game streak of wins on the road dating back to last season. They were dealt a 59-29 defeat at the hands of the Brush Arcs. The matchup marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Trinity's loss came despite strong showings from Kendall Hughes and Princess Gray. Hughes posted 11 points and four steals, while Gray earned seven points. Hughes is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last four games she's played.

As for Brush, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 22 points or more this season.

Brush found their leader in sophomore Nylah Mason, who put up 25 points and five steals. Jakalyn Brown was another key player, dropping a double-double with ten points and 11 rebounds.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Trinity will venture away from home to take on Cuyahoga Heights at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. The Red Wolves' defense has only allowed 23.4 points per game this season, so the Trojans' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Brush, they are taking a road trip to face off against Lutheran East at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Arcs will need to watch out since the Falcons have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
