Softball Game Preview: Tunstall Trojans vs. Magna Vista Warriors

Tunstall is a perfect 10-0 against Magna Vista since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Trojans will take on the Warriors at 5:00 p.m. Tunstall is coming into the game hot, having won their last nine games.

Tunstall's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Liberty as they made off with a 13-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won 11 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Kinslee Cassell was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Harper Lovelace was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Colby Eastwood was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.

13 must be Magna Vista's lucky number: they beat Bassett with that score not once but twice on Friday. The Warriors beat the Bengals by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 13-7. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Bengals: they've now won four in a row.

Tunstall's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Magna Vista, their record now sits at 8-9.

Everything went Tunstall's way against Magna Vista in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Tunstall made off with a 13-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
