Baseball Recap: Center Comes Up Short

Center came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 15-5 to the Lincoln Zebras. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 14-0 to the Zebras when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Center saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andy Hintz, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. Hintz is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played. Another was Anthony Hernandez, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Center has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13-1 record this season. As for Lincoln, the victory (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 16-2-1.

While Center had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
