Football Game Preview: Marfa Shorthorns vs. Grandfalls-Royalty Cowboys

The Marfa Shorthorns will head out on the road to face off against the Grandfalls-Royalty Cowboys at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Friday, Marfa was able to grind out a solid win over Sanderson, taking the game 29-18. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Shorthorns.

Meanwhile, Grandfalls-Royalty took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 57-12 victory over Holy Cross. Considering the Cowboys have won three matchups by more than 44 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Marfa now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Grandfalls-Royalty, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

Marfa couldn't quite finish off Grandfalls-Royalty in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 and fell 62-60. Can the Shorthorns avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
