Basketball Recap: Kirby Extends Winning Streak to Three

Kirby had won two straight games and Carey McClain did his part to make it three on Friday. The Kirby Cougars managed a 63-57 victory over the Raleigh-Egypt Pharaohs thanks in part to McClain, who posted 31 points. His afternoon made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Kirby pushed their record up to 8-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.0 points per game. As for Raleigh-Egypt, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kirby will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Bluff City at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Raleigh-Egypt, they will head out on the road to challenge Craigmont at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Raleigh-Egypt is facing Craigmont at the right time seeing as Craigmont is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
