Basketball Game Preview: Franklin Academy Patriots vs. Research Triangle Raptors

The Franklin Academy Patriots will head out to face off against the Research Triangle Raptors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Franklin Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last ten games.

Last Wednesday, Franklin Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 66-62 to Vance Charter. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Monday (59), the Patriots still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Research Triangle came up short against Raleigh Charter on Tuesday and fell 41-30. While the Raptors didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Phoenix 14-10 in the first quarter.

Franklin Academy will need focus on slowing down Sam Griffith, one of several Research Triangle players who made an impact when they last played. He posted ten points.

Franklin Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Research Triangle, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-15.

Everything went Franklin Academy's way against Research Triangle when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as Franklin Academy made off with a 66-46 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Franklin Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
