Softball Recap: Mount Union Takes a Loss

After flying high against Northern Bedford County on Tuesday, Mount Union came back down to earth. The Trojans lost 13-3 to the Curwensville Golden Tide on Wednesday. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golden Tide apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Mount Union has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Curwensville, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount Union will face off against Tussey Mountain at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Trojans will need to watch out since the Titans have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups. As for Curwensville, they will challenge West Branch at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Golden Tide's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season.
