Football Recap: Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran Comes Up Short

Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were outmatched by the Fort Wayne South Side Archers and fell 42-7. The Cadets lost against the Archers in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 9-7 score last time.

Fort Wayne South Side had a senior duo take command as Chris Mhoon rushed for 133 yards and a pair of TDs on only eight carries and Devin Patterson rushed for 46 yards and two scores. Mhoon also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Archers are 2-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 0-5 otherwise.

Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran dropped their record down to 1-7 with the loss, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Fort Wayne South Side, their win bumped their record up to 2-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran will square off against Homestead at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Fort Wayne South Side, they will take on Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Saints' defense has only allowed 7.6 points per game this season, so the Archers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
