Baseball Recap: Maplewood Triumphs

Maplewood posted their closest win since March 29th on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the John F. Kennedy Catholic Eagles 3-2. This was payback for the Rockets, who suffered a 6-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Maplewood saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Sexton, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Maplewood's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-3. As for John F. Kennedy Catholic, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season.

Maplewood wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Badger on the 2nd. As for John F. Kennedy Catholic, they will venture away from home to square off against Ursuline at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Fighting Irish will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
