Basketball Recap: Pasadena Comes Up Short

Pasadena played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 46-24 to the Crosby Cougars. The Eagles have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why Pasadena lost, don't look at Caryme Molina. Despite the final result, she posted six points and nine boards.

Even though they lost, Pasadena smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 18 consecutive matches.

Jasmine Zapata was the offensive standout of the contest as she almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (three). Lamaya Clark was another key player, putting up nine points and six boards.

Pasadena's defeat dropped their record down to 7-18. As for Crosby, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-15.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing West Fork the next time they take the court. Pasadena will host West Fork at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Crosby will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on January 31st.
