Soccer Game Preview: Lake Stevens vs. Mariner

The Lake Stevens Vikings will venture away from home to square off against the Mariner Marauders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lake Stevens' offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

On Friday, Lake Stevens didn't have quite enough to beat Glacier Peak and fell 2-1. That's two games in a row now that Lake Stevens have lost by just one goal.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mariner). They came out on top against Cascade by a score of 4-2 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for Mariner.

Lake Stevens' defeat dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Mariner, their victory bumped their record up to 4-7-4.

Lake Stevens beat Mariner by a goal in their previous meeting back in April, winning 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
