Softball Recap: St. George's Takes a Loss

St. George came into this matchup off a tough eight-run defeat last Sunday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Houston Mustangs by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday. The Gryphons just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.

St. George's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Houston, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. George's will face off against Cordova at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wolves have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14 runs per game on average), something the Gryphons will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Houston, they will take on Briarcrest Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
