Volleyball Recap: Newton-Conover Comes Up Short

Newton-Conover was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the North Lincoln Knights. If the Red Devils were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Knights when the teams met back in September of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-13, 25-16.

Mollie Ross paced Newton-Conover's offense, picking up eight kills. Ross got some help from Maria Starnes and her 16 assists.

Newton-Conover's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for North Lincoln, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-1.

Newton-Conover has already played their next game, a 3-1 victory against Bunker Hill on the 28th. As for North Lincoln, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against North Iredell on the 27th.
