Basketball Recap: Garner Comes Up Short

Garner was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Perrin-Whitt Pirates and fell 63-17. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Longhorns of the 54-19 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Garner's defeat dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Perrin-Whitt, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-13 record this season.

Garner will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Throckmorton at 6:00 p.m. on January 28th. Perrin-Whitt has already played their next match (against Bryson), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
