Volleyball Recap: Asheboro Takes a Loss + How To Watch

If Asheboro was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Northeast Guilford on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Blue Comets came up short against the Randleman Tigers on Monday, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Blue Comets in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost nine in a row.

Asheboro was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Randleman work for it, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-22, 27-25, 25-18.

Lia George paced Asheboro's offense, picking up nine kills. George got some help from Kailey Brown and her 13 assists. Finally, Emma Kate Forester kept Asheboro's defense grounded, leading the team with six blocks.

Asheboro's defeat dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Randleman, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 13-3.

Asheboro and Randleman should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. The Blue Comets (ranked 117th) will meet Southern Guilford (ranked 576th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Randleman will face off against Lexington Senior at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (87 vs. 265).
