Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask McNeil). Everything went their way against Manor on Tuesday as they made off with a 14-7 victory. The win continues a trend for the Mavericks in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won three in a row.
Nevaeh Green spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered seven earned runs on 14 hits and racked up nine Ks. She also set a new season-high mark in stolen bases with two.
At the plate, Mia Gallo was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season. Sydne Jackson was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
McNeil always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2025.
Cedar Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 8-10-1. As for McNeil, their victory bumped their record up to 3-7.
McNeil's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Cedar Ridge hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .363. It's a different story for McNeil, though, as they've only averaged .238. Will they be able to contain Cedar Ridge's hitters?
Cedar Ridge got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in February against McNeil by a conclusive 16-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
