Softball Recap: Open Bible Christian Warriors vs. Corinth Christian Academy Warriors
Open Bible Christian extended their losing streak to five on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 1-5 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 14-13 heartbreaker at the hands of Corinth Christian Academy. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Corinth Christian Academy this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-7 last Tuesday.
As for Corinth Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games.
For Corinth Christian Academy's part, the team relied heavily on Hallie Altman, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennadie Herndon, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Coincidentally, Open Bible Christian and Corinth Christian Academy will both be playing First Christian the next time they take the field. Open Bible Christian will head out to face First Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, while Corinth Christian Academy will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on the 28th.
