Softball Recap: Crandon Picks Up Second Consecutive Win

Crandon took a 22-run loss the last time they faced off against Three Lakes/Phelps, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Cardinals beat Three Lakes/Phelps on Tuesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 11-9. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cardinals.

Crandon got a massive performance out of Zoey Votis, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two doubles. Votis is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ariah Peterson, who went 4-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Crandon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in four consecutive games.

Crandon's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Three Lakes/Phelps, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 8-5.

Crandon didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 6-1 victory against Pembine/Goodman on the 7th. As for Three Lakes/Phelps, they have also already played their next contest, a 5-4 loss against Florence on the 7th.
