Baseball Recap: Whittier Christian's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak on the Road

After flying high against Western last Friday, Whittier Christian came back down to earth. The Heralds took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Valley Christian Defenders on Monday. The Heralds were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Defenders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Zion Park was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.

Whittier Christian's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-6. As for Valley Christian, they pushed their record up to 9-9 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home.

Looking ahead, Whittier Christian will face off against Garfield at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Valley Christian will be paying especially close attention to the Heralds' game: after the Heralds faces off against the Bulldogs, they'll take on Valley Christian again at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
