Basketball Recap: Millbrook Find Success

If Rolesville wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Millbrook, they should've done a better job of containing Ashton King. The Millbrook Wildcats walked away with an 87-76 win over the Rolesville Rams on Friday thanks in part to King, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 12 rebounds. The game was his third in a row with at least 24 points.

Another player making a difference was Jason Parrish, who posted seven points. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 50% shooting accuracy.

Several Rams players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Anthony Roberts, Jr, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 boards. Roberts, Jr is becoming a predictor of Rolesville's success: when he posts at least eight rebounds the team is 4-2 (and 6-10 when he doesn't). Caiden Jenkins was another key player, going 7 for 17 en route to 20 points in addition to five boards and four steals.

The victory got Millbrook back to even at 11-11. As for Rolesville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Wildcats challenge the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Millbrook is facing Wake Forest at the right time seeing as Wake Forest is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Rolesville, they will be playing at home against Heritage at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Rolesville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.9 points per game this season.
