Basketball Recap: Natchez's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Natchez had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against the Provine Rams by a score of 64-53. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bulldogs also won the last time the pair played back in February.

Natchez had a senior duo take command as Daylan Haywood went 8-for-15 en route to 19 points along with eight assists and six rebounds and William Johnson almost dropped a double-double with 18 points and nine boards. Haywood has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last nine times he's played. Braxton Madison was another key player, putting up 11 points.

The win got Natchez back to even at 3-3. As for Provine, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6.

Natchez didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 58-48 defeat against South Pike on the 25th. As for Provine, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 61-48 victory against Tylertown on the 29th.
