Basketball Game Preview: Desert Mountain Wolves vs. Mountain Pointe Pride

The Desert Mountain Wolves are taking a road trip to take on the Mountain Pointe Pride at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Desert Mountain is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.

Last Friday, Desert Mountain had to suffer through a 73-42 loss at the hands of Notre Dame Prep.

Meanwhile, Mountain Pointe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 53-32 to Horizon. While losing is never fun, the Pride can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 177th, while the Huskies are ranked 49th).

Mountain Pointe's loss dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Desert Mountain, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-15.

Desert Mountain and Mountain Pointe were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in January, but Desert Mountain came up empty-handed after a 55-54 loss. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Mountain Pointe's Amora Mask, who went 11 of 26 on her way to 28 points and seven boards. Now that Desert Mountain knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
