Concord won the last time they faced NorthWood and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Minutemen walked away with a 9-5 victory over the Panthers.
Taelynn McKinney spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Concord got a massive performance out of Lizbeth Flores, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Laela Moore, who went 2-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Concord kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as NorthWood only managed seven.
Concord's win bumped their record up to 5-10. As for NorthWood, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-12.
We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Concord is set to face off against their familiar foe Plymouth at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, NorthWood will challenge rival Northridge at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
