Baseball Recap: Little Miami Snags 12th Win in Last 13 Games

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Little Miami had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Colerain Cardinals. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered a 10-4 loss the last time these two teams met.

Little Miami got a great performance from Carter Sellers as he struck out six batters over 5.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. Sellers has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ian Sukup, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Eli Schoellman was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Little Miami has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Colerain, they dropped their record down to 9-15 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.

As of now, neither Little Miami nor the Cardinals have any future games scheduled.
