Preview: Norco Cougars vs. Centennial Huskies
Norco is 0-10 against Centennial since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Norco Cougars will be playing at home against the Centennial Huskies at 7:00 p.m. Norco has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,734 points over their last 23 matches.
Norco posted their closest win yet this season on Friday. They had just enough and edged Corona out 67-65. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Norco can attribute much of their success to Kameron Brown, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and five steals, and Matthew Mendias, who scored 19 points along with five assists and three steals. Brown hasn't dropped below 15points for six straight games. Ramiro Morales was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight assists.
Meanwhile, even though Poly scored an imposing 59 points on Monday, Centennial still came out on top. Centennial took their game against Poly 68-59.
Norco's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-10. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 81.0 points per game. As for Centennial, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.
Norco was taken down by Centennial 92-57 in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Norco was down 49-21.
