On Friday, Holy Cross faced Mercy in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Holy Cross Crusaders fell 44-34 to the Mercy Tigers. The Crusaders' loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Holy Cross' defeat dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Mercy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

While Holy Cross had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
