Baseball Recap: Okawville Rockets vs. Wesclin Warriors

Okawville had lost eight straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 1-11 to make it nine. They came up short against the Wesclin Warriors, falling 14-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-1 on Tuesday.

Okawville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grant Moody, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run. John Schaller also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

As for Wesclin, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-10. That ten run margin sets a new team best for them this season.

On Wesclin's side, Ayden Peterson made a splash no matter where he played. Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Okawville will face off against Waltonville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Spartans' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Rockets' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Wesclin, they will square off against Valmeyer at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
