Softball Recap: Dover Dragons vs. Marlboro Central Dukes
Dover was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Marlboro Central Dukes. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Dragons of the 6-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2019.
Callie Tuthill led a balanced group of hitters, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. Cadence Tetor was another key player, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Dover's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Marlboro Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.
