Basketball Recap: Ash Fork Takes a Loss

Ash Fork came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They took a blow against the Bagdad Sultans, falling 45-18. The game was over by the end of the first half, with no points scored by either team from that point forward.

Ash Fork got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of D.J. Godinez and Jhovanny Vazquez, who each put up three points. Jesus Ayala held things down on the boards with five rebounds.

With the defeat, Ash Fork broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-3. As for Bagdad, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Looking ahead, Ash Fork will be taking part in a tournament against Williams at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bagdad, they will take on Wickenburg at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Sultans will be up against the Wranglers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 59.4 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
