Baseball Game Preview: Central Grizzlies vs. Buchanan Bears

Central hasn't had much luck against Buchanan recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Grizzlies will host the Bears at 3:30 p.m.

Friday just wasn't the day for Central's offense. They fell 4-0 to Clovis West on Friday. Surprisingly, this marked the third straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Adan Flores spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned runs on eight hits.

Meanwhile, Buchanan waltzed into their matchup on Friday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They walked away with a 10-6 victory over the Cougars. Ten seems to be a good number for the Bears as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Buchanan's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Central, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Central took their victory against Buchanan when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 7-1 score. Do the Grizzlies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
