Soccer Game Preview: Waukesha South vs. Mukwonago

The Waukesha South Blackshirts will venture away from home to take on the Mukwonago Indians at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Waukesha South's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Waukesha South's offense. They came up short against Catholic Memorial on Tuesday, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, Waukesha South can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin soccer rankings (they are ranked 110th, while Catholic Memorial are ranked 11th).

Meanwhile, Mukwonago kept a clean sheet against Badger on Thursday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Badgers. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Mukwonago were the better team in the second half.

Stella Kertscher and Annie Gilbert scored both of Mukwonago's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 11 goals.

Waukesha South's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5-1. As for Mukwonago, their win bumped their record up to 5-1-3.

Waukesha South suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to Mukwonago in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Blackshirts avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
