Volleyball Recap: Governor's Academy Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Noble & Greenough

Governor's Academy faced Noble & Greenough in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Governors came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Governors of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:two sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. The final score came out to 26-24, 26-24, 25-8.

Leading Noble & Greenough to victory were Azalea Marangoly and Rhea Shah. Marangoly had seven digs and four aces, while Shah had 16 assists and four digs. That's the most aces Marangoly has posted since back in September.

Governor's Academy now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Noble & Greenough, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.

Coming up, Governor's Academy will venture away from home to square off against Milton Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Noble & Greenough, they will square off against Austin Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
