Softball Recap: King Sets Scoring Season-High Against West Oso

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask King). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the West Oso Bears an 18-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Brahmas might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by seven runs or more this season.

Addison Beltran was a standout: she scored three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Meagan Barcena was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

King was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .750. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .320 or higher in three consecutive matches.

The win got King back to even at 11-11. As for West Oso, they dropped their record down to 3-11 with the loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. King will square off against Calallen at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. As for West Oso, they will challenge Odem at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Odem will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something West Oso surely won't give up without a fight.
