Baseball Recap: Albany Triumphs

Nine must be Albany's lucky number: they beat Tarkio with that score not once but twice on Tuesday. The Warriors beat the Indians by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 9-8. For the Warriors, this counts as revenge for the 6-5 victory the Indians walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Albany saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jarrett Smith, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Smith has become a key player for the Warriors: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-3 otherwise. Another was Daulton Worrell, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his five plate appearances.

The win got Albany back to even at 4-4. As for Tarkio, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Albany didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 3-2 victory against Princeton on the 10th. As for Tarkio, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 15-0 defeat against Rock Port on the 10th.
