Baseball Recap: Immaculata-La Salle Find Success

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Immaculata-La Salle walked away with it. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the JC Bermudez Doral Thunder on Tuesday, sneaking past 5-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Royal Lions.

Immaculata-La Salle got a great performance from Alexander Corzo as he pitched 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Corzo has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Immaculata-La Salle's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Daniel Gonzalez, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Immaculata-La Salle's victory bumped their record up to 16-5. As for JC Bermudez Doral, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-12 record this season.

Immaculata-La Salle will square off against Miami Springs at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Royal Lions 3.5, the Golden Hawks 1.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. JC Bermudez Doral does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
